Catalog services vs. labor

Roldesk keeps two distinct ways to bill non-material work, so there's no overlap:

  • Catalog Services are flat-priced items — price × quantity (a diagnostic fee, a call-out charge, transport). You add them from the catalog on a work order, quote or invoice.
  • Labor is time-based — hours × rate, from your Labor rate cards, metered against the work order's tasks.

If you need to bill by the hour, use Labor. Catalog services no longer offer hourly or base-plus-time pricing; the service item form shows a single Unit price.
