Linking work orders to contracts and projects
A work order can belong to one contract and to one or more projects. The work-order list lets you filter by those links and manage them in bulk.
The linkage filter
Next to the Status and Priority filters there's a Linked to filter:
- All — every work order.
- Contract — only work orders attached to a contract. A second dropdown lets you narrow to a specific contract (or all contracts).
- Project — only work orders in a project, with a second dropdown for a specific project.
- Unlinked — work orders attached to neither.
Linking in bulk
Tick one or more rows and use the bulk toolbar:
- Link to contract / Link to project — attach the selected work orders.
- If some of the selected work orders are already on a contract, you'll be warned before continuing — linking moves them to the new contract (a work order has only one contract). Projects can hold a work order alongside others, so linking to a project simply adds it.
Removing a link
Switch the Linked to filter to Contract or Project first. The matching Remove from contract / Remove from project button then appears in the bulk toolbar. Removing a link never deletes the work order — it just detaches it.
